I.C.Y. Summer

Since April, I've been working at a preschool, Integrated Center for the Young, for my practicum. It's required, I don't get paid, but boy, am I having the time of my life!Ü Let the pictures do the talking...Ü

That's me helping Lance with his sand art. Yaya Connie took the picture for me while we were working on our activity.

That’s Ate Bujoy teaching Beginning Reading to Noah, Harley, Adrian, and Lance (not in photo). See the zoo poster with all the animals? I made all that.Ü

From left to right: Reese, Lance, Ethan, JB, Alex.
They were our students in the Toddler Program last April. If you noticed, Lance is also here. And if you noticed also, they're wearing their pajamas. We were learning the letter P that day & what could be a better way of teaching the children that letter but with a Pajama Party!Ü By the way, Reese, Lance, & JB are still in the Toddler Program this May.Ü

This is a cute moment taken during the Swimming Party that was held on the last day of the April classes (April 28).

This is Teacher Mel’s female chow-chow, Domino. I met her on the day of the swimming party for the kids. Blue pala talaga ang dila nila. Kakaiba. It’s so hairy it looks like a lion. I wondered out loud what Domino’s hair would look like if it were rebonded. Hahaha

Here's another shot of Domino. She's so beautiful!

This is JB. He’s only 2 years old and he’s in my Toddler class. He’ll still be my student during the May classes. He has a really cute smile and he’s so huggable! He likes to dance, to count (he’s really good with numbers), and to swim. For some reason, he has a fixation to round or circular objects. Though he has mild autism, he responds well to people around him.

This is Lance. He is in both my 2 classes. He’s only 3 years old and yet he’s smarter than his classmates who are a year older than him. He knows all the letters and can even tell you what sound each letter makes. He’s really inquisitive with his endless series of why’s. Apart from asking so many questions, he talks a lot, and fast too. At first I had a hard time understanding what he was saying because he’s still using baby talk that’s really difficult to decipher. I’m glad I’ve gotten used to his babbling since I usually feed him his morning snack in between his 2 classes. One thing I will never forget is when I packed up his lunch box after he finished eating, he wrapped his tiny arms around me and gave me the sweetest hug ever.Ü

This is Miki. She’s the daughter of Teacher Kelly. She isn’t my student but she’s very friendly and talkative. She also likes it when she is the center of attention (artista!). She has bright eyes and a sweet smile that just makes you wanna go, “Coochie-coochie-coo!” Her brilliant mind came up with this question last Wednesday while we teachers were having lunch: “Why is it raining? It’s summer!” Of course, we were all teachers there and couldn’t give her an answer she could understand. Hahaha
